The Story of The Gang of Fruits - A Motivational Story for Eating Fruits

Bismillaah

As Salaamu 'alaykum and peace to all,

The Story of The Gang of Fruits - A Motivational Story on Eating Fruits

’You sure have lots of fruits at home!’ said a friend of mine who came for a visit that day

‘’Yes, alhamdulillaah. I just love them. My mum used to have at least two or three types of fruits at any one time.’ I answered cheerfully

‘Really? SubhanAllaah. I rarely eat fruits. Not really in my diet’ she replied

‘Oh, you should eat more of it, sis. Fruits are mentioned many times in the Holy Quran, and of course, we all know the benefits of vitamins that come with them, mashaAllaah’ I told her.

I remembered a verse from the Holy Quran when Allaah said,

Then eat all the fruits and walk in the ways of your Lord submissively… . (16:69)

Absolutely!

I enjoy eating fruits. Be it mango, melon, grapes, apple, pear, peach, pineapple, strawberry, papaya, dates, et cetera et cetera et cetera. Of course, the ones that need no cutting, the ones I could just grab and go, the ones that I could easily carry in my knapsack would be very much preferred for one simple reason- I don’t have to cut them! (Code word for lazy!)

And the health benefits, we all know about it, right?

We all have heard this old saying,

An apple a day keeps the doctor away

Shoo, Dr. Shoo…I have an apple in my hand!

Lucky us, alhamdulillaah, certain fruits are mentioned in the Holy Quran for us to enjoy both its taste and its health benefits,

For example, the dates and grapes are mentioned by Allaah,

And the fruits of date palm and grapes you get wholesome drink and nutrition: Behold in this is a sign for those who are wise. (16:67)

And melon was eaten by Prophet Muhammad too,

The Apostle of Allah used to eat melon with fresh dates, and he used to say: The heat of the one is broken by the coolness of the other, and the coolness of the one by the heat of the other. (Abu Dawud)

Don’t forget the wonderful olive oil,

‘…use olive oil and anoint yourself with it, because it is ‘from a blessed tree’ (24:35)
And the fig too!

By the Fig and the Olive.. (Surah at-Teen; 95:1)

Even the benefits of Citrus was used as a parable by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

The Citrus fruit is like a true believer, with a good taste, and a good scent (Sahih al-Bukhari)
Amazing, right?

SubhanAllaah…

Allaah has said that,

And whatsoever He has created for you on the earth of varying colors [and qualities from vegetation and fruits] and from animals. Verily! In this is a sign for people who remember. ( 16:13 )

I remembered an email send by a dear friend from Shaw University Mosque one day about the amazing resemblance of the shapes of the fruits and the actual benefit that those fruits carry.

Let me share them with you.

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye...and science shows that carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart is red and has four chambers. All of the research shows tomatoes are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows that grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds are on the nut just like the neo-cortex. We now know that walnuts help develop over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium If you don't have enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Eggplant, Avocados and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats 1 avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? .... It takes exactly 9 months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the motility of male sperm and increase the numbers of sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries.

Grapefruits, Oranges , and other citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like body cells. Today's research shows that onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes.

SubhanAllaah!

Indeed, this verse has brought another new dimension to me,

Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? (The Beneficient 55:13)

Think about it...
